    Amanda & David’s Marietta Wedding

Amanda was one of those brides that you just love from the start!  When she first contacted us back in the snowy days of winter about her August wedding, you just know that this is someone you want to work with.  Amanda had a list of questions about wedding photography and it seemed like we talked for hours having fun going through all the different topics.  Needless to say, we were excited when Amanda and David booked us!  We had a blast on their engagement session at UGA in Athens, and were anxiously awaiting their wedding day!

It was a beautiful summer day as we headed to Marietta Conference Center Hotel to meet up with Amanda and her bridesmaids.  We always love the “getting ready” time, as the fun, laughter, and building anticipation of the day generate such energy and emotion.  While Courtney from Impulse Beauty took care of makeup, we captured the girls having fun and going through their transformation to wedding day gorgeousness!  We then headed over to McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church  for the final getting ready and to meet up with David and his groomsmen.   This would be a special wedding as David and most of the groomsmen would be dressed in their dress blues planned to incorporate some of the Army wedding traditions.

The ceremony was just as beautiful as we imagined it would be, as the stained glass backdrop provided a gorgeous setting for Amanda and David to exchange their vows!  After an exit through the saber arch, a kiss, and a “welcome to the Army ma’am”, we finished up the family pictures and were off to the Marietta Conference Center for the reception.  Cocktail hour was just finishing up as we arrived for David and Amanda’s grand entrance to kick off the evening festivities.  The evening commenced through first dances, dinner, cake cutting and toasts, then the dance floor was hopping till the end of the night!

Amanda and David, we really enjoyed your wedding day and spending time with your family and friends!  Below are a few pictures from your day and be sure to watch the  slide show!

  • Rachel & Paul’s Atlanta Engagement Session

Rachel & Paul’s Atlanta Engagement Session

We recently met Rachel and Paul and their dog Zoe to talk about their upcoming wedding on the Skyline Terrace at the Peachtree Club in Atlanta.  We had a great time talking about their wedding and how they envisioned their wedding day would be.  We were excited when they let us know they wanted us to cover their wedding and were ready to go ahead with their engagement session.  As Rachel and Paul live in the mid-town area, they spend a lot of time at Piedmont Park taking Zoe for walks in the park, so this was a meaningful location for them to do their session.

We were not sure how the day would go as the Atlanta Arts Festival was in the park that weekend, but we braved the crowds and parking, and it wasn’t as bad as we thought it might be.  Starting out at the new fountain area, we wandered through the park taking pictures as we went.  Zoe was awesome and wanted in the pictures too, so we made sure we got plenty of her as well!  It was a fun and relaxed late afternoon with awesome weather, so we took advantage of the day in the park, and as evening approached, we decided to head up towards Peachtree St. and the Fox for some nighttime shots.

We met back up at Gordon Biersch for a quick snack and then headed up the road towards the Fox theater.  We knew Wicked was playing at the Fox and the lights would be lit, but wasn’t sure if it would be crowded in the area.  As luck has it, the show was in progress and the streets were pretty much empty, which was great for us getting the shots we wanted.  As we love shooting in the evenings with the city lights, we stopped at a few of our favorite street locations which we had not been to in a while as Rachel and Paul turned on the romance for us!

It was a great day for a session and we had a blast hanging out with Rachel and Paul!  We hope you will enjoy these few pictures from their day and be sure to watch the slideshow!

  • Jodie & Michael’s Atlanta Engagement Session

Jodie & Michael’s Atlanta Engagement Session

We first met Jodie and Michael back early this summer, when Jodie contacted us about wedding photography at the suggestion of her planner Christina Capozzi ( Christina has a catering company, but since she would not be able to cater the wedding, she decided to help Jodie and Mike organize their wedding details).  After our first meeting, we knew we would enjoy working with Jodie and Michael over the coming months.  They are planning a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Gardens At Great Oaks in Roswell, GA.

When engagement session time finally rolled around, we decided to visit Piedmont Park, which is where Michael proposed to Jodie on the big hill overlooking the park and the skyline.  It was a beautiful early fall day as we meandered around the park, stopping off at some of our favorite photo spots along the way.  We of course made the trek up the hill to the spot where Michael proposed for some pictures and to hear the story of the proposal.  Totally romantic!

As the sun began to dip, we headed off for a quick bite and a refreshing drink, before we headed to our next destination.  After talking about our options for our next stop, we decided to head towards Buckhead and hit the Johnny Rockets for a malt and the Buckhead Theater for some lights.  Our last stop was to a private roof top location to get some evening shots of the lights of the city.  This was a treat from Michael and Jodie as you could see all of Downtown, Buckhead, Stone Mountain, etc. from the rooftop (have we ever mentioned that we love shooting in the evening!).  The nighttime lights made for some great shots and a perfect ending to this exciting day!  We of course have to thank Jodie and Michael for a great day of fun!

Below are a few pictures from their session and be sure to watch their slideshow!

  • Carolina & Andre’s Album

    Carolina & Andre’s Album

We just love presenting our clients their albums in person….however, Seattle is a long way away, so we had to ship this one.  Carolina and Andre’s beautiful Art Album, 12×12, 60 pages, with a custom printed canvas wrap cover was a big hit!  We received the following email from this happy couple and wanted to share their thoughts with you:

    "Hello Mike and Cat,

We did receive the album and the CDs yesterday.  We absolutely LOVE the album!!!! It turned out even more beautiful than what we imagined it!!! I have not had a chance to look through the 3 CDs, but I am sure they are great as well.
We really want to thank you for all your help and your work throughout out this year.  We are going to have these pictures for the rest of our lives to remind us of our amazing wedding day and I am so happy you were there with us to share it with us and to capture it all.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!   We hope to see you again when we are in Atlanta, or if you are ever in the Seattle area, let us know, we would love to grab dinner with you!"

    — Carolina & Andres

We encourage all of our couples to include an album such as this with their photography collection.  After all the work that goes into your pictures, the computer screen just does not do them justice like a gorgeous album, profession prints, or a big canvas or framed print for the wall!  Be sure to get the most from your wedding day photography and showcase your images the way they were meant to be!

Here are some pictures of the album, featuring a customized canvas cover and press printed lustre finished art paper pages.

Monique & Giuseppe Conservatory at Waterstone Acworth Wedding

It was a beautiful July day and finally time for Monique and Giuseppe’s wedding at Waterstone.  We had been waiting for this wedding day to arrive as we had so much fun with this couple on their engagement session and knew that their wedding day would be beautiful and fun!  We started the day meeting Monique and her bridesmaids at Waterstone for their getting ready.  Giuseppe and the groomsmen arrived shortly thereafter, and you could feel the excitement building as everyone was readying for the coming ceremony!

While I was hanging out with Giuseppe and the guys, I found out that part of the ceremony would be what I call an “anniversary box”.   Giuseppe was writing a note to Monique (and Monique was up in the brides room writing Giuseppe a note).  These letters would be locked in a wooden box along with a bottle of wine and two glasses.  During the ceremony, Monique and Giuseppe placed their letters into the box and locked it.  It will be opened on their 5th anniversary, at which time they will read the letters that each wrote just prior to their ceremony.  Very cool idea and very romantic!

The ceremony was beautiful!  As Monique walked the aisle, preceded by her son, Giuseppe met her half way and walked with her the rest of the way.  One of the things we love about Waterstone weddings is that we get to photograph the ceremony from two different vantage points – the balcony behind the couple and from the front.  After a touching ceremony, we took the happy couple and their bridal party up the street for some pictures by the fountain before making our way to the reception and the grand entrance.

Monique and Giuseppe entered the reception to a room full of family and friends and proceeded into their first dance.  This was followed by another awesome Waterstone dinner, cake cutting, and lots of dancing and partying!  The bride and groom danced the night away surrounded by their family and friends, and everyone was having a great time!  We really enjoyed Monique and Giuseppe’s wedding celebrations, and we hope you will enjoy their pictures and slide show below!
