It was a cold day in January when Amanda called to ask a few questions about our wedding photography. Well a few minutes soon turned into an hour and half phone conversation as we talked back and forth about her wedding plans, our photography and options for her package, and just had a great time chatting about wedding “stuff”. We met with Amanda and her mom, and we knew we would fit right in with their family. We were excited for spring to arrive as Amanda and David wanted to do their engagement session in Athens at the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!). We often travel for engagement sessions as we prefer to have these sessions somewhere that is meaningful to the couple, and Athens seems like our second home after a number of engagement sessions and weddings in the Athens area.
As springtime in Georgia often has unpredictable weather, we were blessed with a beautiful Saturday, although windy, for their session. We met up at the local Panera Bread, spent a short while catching up and meeting David for the first time, and planning out our session. The UGA campus has plenty of great places for pictures, so we just wandered amongst the fountains, gardens, and buildings making our way down to Sanford Stadium. Amanda and David were having a good time frolicing and goofing off as we went with plenty of romance in between! We took a short dinner break and waited for the sun to set and the lights of Athens to come on for some nighttime pictures. We finished out the session in the dark, then sent Amanda and David off to meet up with friends for the evening.
We had a great time with Amanda and David on this beautiful Saturday afternoon and can’t wait to see them again for their wedding at McEachern UMC and the Marietta Conference Center. Here are a few more images from their session in the slideshow (below) from the day!
